1. Water Is Actively Entering Your Home
Any dripping, pooling, or visibly wet ceiling or wall means water has already breached your roofing system and is inside your building envelope. This is the clearest sign of a genuine emergency — every hour of delay increases the risk of drywall damage, insulation saturation, and mold growth.
2. A Ceiling Bulge or Sag Has Appeared
A bulging or sagging patch of ceiling usually means water has pooled above the drywall and is being held back by the ceiling material itself. This is both a water damage risk and, in more serious cases, a structural concern. If it's safe to do so, place a bucket underneath and carefully puncture the lowest point of the bulge from below to release the trapped water in a controlled way — then call us immediately.
3. Missing Shingles or Exposed Decking After a Storm

A sudden musty smell or a ceiling stain that's visibly growing (rather than an old, dry stain) usually means an active, ongoing leak — not a one-time event. These often start small and get significantly worse with the next rain, so they're worth treating with urgency even without visible dripping yet.
